Question about saving a web page HTML in the Edge Browser:“Inside Internet Explorer, there was a way to save a web page by choosing ‘Save As’ from the menu bar to save the web page’s HTML and image files. Is there a way to save a web page HTML using Microsoft Edge? In fact, I remember there was an option to save the web page as a single .mht file or HTML.”
Answer: If you have the latest version of the Edge browser then all you do is right-click on any empty space on a web page and choose Save as. If you have an older version of Edge then follow the steps below.
Instructions to Save a Web Page’s HTML Using the Microsoft Edge Browser
Unfortunately at the time of this writing (for older versions of the Edge browser) there does not appear to be a super-fast way to save a web page to include all HTML and image files. However, built-into Microsoft’s Edge browser there is a way to open Internet Explorer 11 which does still provide this capability. The instructions are provided below.
1. Open Microsoft Edge and navigate to the web page you want to download.
2. Press the ALT key and X key at the same time (ALT + X) to bring up the Settings and more menu. Or click on the three dots on the top right of the Microsoft Edge browser.
3. Inside the Settings and more menu choose More tools and Open with Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will open in a new window to the page you were viewing. (IE 11 should be built into Windows 10 – if you don’t see it just go here to download Windows Internet Explorer 11)

4. Create a new folder on your computer that you will use to save the contents of the web page into. On the Internet Explorer menu bar choose File > Save as… (Click here if not seeing the Internet Explorer menu bar)

5.(a) From the Save as options, choose a directory file location in which to save the web page. This directory will contain all the HTML, files, and images. (b) Create a File name. (c) You can also choose Save as type from options including –Web Archive, single file (*.mht), –Webpage, complete (*.htm;*.html), –Webpage, HTML only (*.htm;*.html), and –Text File (*.txt). (d) Click on Save.
